The State-Sponsored Nangijala Trip
Euthanasia is one of those things where those who are in favor of it think that it’s so self-evidently a thing to be in favor of and all right-minded people obviously think it’s great.
You breathe air, drink water, and send people to the great farm in the sky. Easy as ABC. No arguments needed. It’s just such a fundamental human right. Eat a sandwich, play some bowling, end some lives.
I’ll concede that it does follow from some of the axioms of the utilitarian worldview where non-existance is a great and relaxing state of mind and where suffering and happiness are easily quantifiable and predictable things. In the land where you can pull the lever on the trolley and the train just safely kills one person and that person would never ever had saved anyone else and the people on the other track will all go on to cure polio and all decisions are obvious and easy.

procrastination
do you procrastinate, fellow patrons? i do.
i'm currently writing a reflective journal for a college assignment relating my intercultural experiences in educational and workplace settings, but i can't bring myself to finish it.
i love words more than i could ever write. i've spent the last half an hour writing a short catharsis on accepting failing to stay on task in the hopes of getting back to it...

the not knowing: cage and calvinis
it's been a while since i've been deeply unsettled by the lack of resolution in a film, especially if the film's conceit is overall preposterous. however, having just experienced the disquieting jouissance of such cinematic bombast last night, here i am, with a need to verbalize and process this tormentand whom else would i have to thank for this but my favorite member of the coppola family, nicolas cage, rumplestiltskin of the dramatic arts that he is. what, then, of the film that originated this long-winded introduction of this disquiet from theological and epistemological perspectives? it would be none other than KNOWING (2009, dir. alex proyas). [0] spoilers follow, so be forewarned, lest ye find not your salvation.

How I wash dishes using very little water
The best part about this method is that you can measure how much water you’re using so you can compare it to other methods so if I’m wrong you’ll find out easily.
I use a bowl, often I just pick whatever bowl or pot I’m cleaning that’s the biggest unless it’s a super sensitive “never scratch it” thing. Sometimes just a li’l glass or jar is fine. Just to have something to get a nice mix of water and detergent.

Huge hexes FTW
The Robgoblin proposes going to a three mile hex size (and also links to a couple of other posters who have proposed similar).
Funny. I’ve been going in the opposite direction. Huge hexes. One hex = one day of travel.
Lately, we’ve been playing a lot of Arden Vul, which does use three mile hexes on its valley map. One hex is one hour of travel, at my party’s current pace.

A failed engagement and a failed house sale
I love Olivia's writing. At the bottom of this post I've linked to she shares the two other blog posts she wrote about grieving and healing from her broken engagement. All three are excellent. Though I don't claim to have gone through the same pain, her writing helped me work through some of the grief I was feeling over our failed house sale last summer.
Last June we found a nice, small log home to buy. The very week of closing, after putting a not-insignificant amount of money into the inspections, we found out the sellers had backed out of the deal without a word to us and were in the process of selling the house to someone else.

That’d be about square
Now, two wrongs don’t make a right and I’m always arguing against “retributions” of all kind.
Iran killed zero people with the rockets they sent after Israel killed 16 people. They actually killed real human beings!
Then saying “Can we please be even now?”
[...]
Thirty-three civilians did get hurt by the rockets including a young girl. Revenge is never right and revenging on individuals that didn’t even do the original thing is even more wrong, even if they’re “of the same people” that hurt you. So I’m definitively not condoning the rocket blasts. They also took 25 human beings hostage (crew members of some ship). That is not OK either.

RPG of One Capsule Progress #1
I'm reworking my solo RPG capsule's theme. The one that I'm using Hugo to generate. I'm starting from scratch and using the gemini capsule hugo theme I made for this capsule. I feel like it's generic enough to work.
I didn't delete the work I've done. It's got workarounds I had to implement to make the pages render the way I want them to. It just feels like a mess compared to the one I made for this capsule.
